Diamonds of Amazonia: Meaningfully Engage Your Senior, Busy and Multitasking Professionals

One of our clients, who ranks in top 50 in Asset Management Companies (AMC), having Rs. 4,000 plus crores of Assets Under Management (AUM), wished to educate, engage and be first in their customers’ (distributors’) mind.

In this fiercely competitive Indian Mutual Fund industry major offline business for any AMC comes through a network of distributors. The distributors in turn get it through investors. In this food chain distributors act as crucial link between AMCs and investors.

The bigger role of these distributors is to act as trusted financial advisors working with the objective of maximizing their (clients’) ROI

After a day of brainstorming, we at NuTurns suggested our client a business simulation called “Diamonds of Amazonia” – a powerful and playful experiential learning, based on the theme of Amazonian Jungle. They got excited immediately

They had the idea about this simulation as it was played earlier for their sr. leadership team in Goa which helped them to set out their business goals in a very unique, collaborative and co-creative way.The other very strong reason why Diamonds of Amazonia got instantly accepted was because the attributes of game matched (apart from manufacturing, service and IT industry) with the elements of financial markets in which their distributors operate – like

  • uncertainty
  • risk management
  • long term and short term strategies
  • micro and macro thinking
  • forecasting
  • data analysis and
  • making data-driven decisions.

As scheduled, on 5th October, 2018 at 2 pm we started the program with 125 inattentive and distracted distributors. Yes it was a good reason for them to be so because on that day the market was bleeding and was down by 335 points.

Thanks to NuTurns’ seasoned trainers and facilitators and their highly engaging business simulation – Diamonds of Aamzonia that they could productively engage and retain their distracted minds.

At the end the day participants carried away with them the following 6 key lessons of Diamonds of Amazonia.
